The Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count is an annual event run by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA). LAHSA is a joint powers authority group of the City and County of Los Angeles, created in 1993 to address the problems of homelessness in Los Angeles. It is responsible for the funding and coordination of homeless services and housing assistance to support the homeless population of men, women and children in the City and County of Los Angeles.

Since 2005, LAHSA has coordinated six biennial Greater Los Angeles Homeless Counts. Beginning in 2016, the Point-In-Time Count now occurs annually.

The Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count is where the City gathers as much information as possible about those experiencing homelessness so that the City can make informed decisions and develop creative solutions. The data collected enables the City to gather important data that is key to help bring about an end to homelessness in Los Angeles.

The Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count will help the City:

  • Inform the state of homelessness in LA
  • Bring vital community resources
  • Increase engagement bringing together leaders, residents and stakeholders

Register now to become part of the 8,000 volunteers needed for a successful 2018 Homeless Count. More information can be found at https://www.theycountwillyou.org/
