The City of Los Angeles and Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez invite you to this year's celebration of El Grito! This year’s El Grito will be held as a benefit telethon to raise funds to support undocumented Angelenos on the front lines as farm workers, garment workers, and other essential services impacted by COVID-19 and to kick off Latino Heritage Month.

¡El Grito! is the celebration of Mexican Independence Day and the September Independence Days of Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Traditionally El Grito is held on the steps of City Hall, this year's celebration will be streamed right to your living room and feature virtual musical performances.  The telethon will also highlight Los Angeles’ vibrant Latino community as well as showcase the immense contributions Latinos have made to the City’s culture, history, and economy.
