Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell announced that the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) will open the South Dam of the Silver Lake Reservoir on February 10 as a walking path. This will provide greater access to the facility, enhance the pedestrian experience at the complex, and allow park-goers to have closer access to the water which is something the community has desired for a long time.

“The Silver Lake Reservoir and Recreation Center are special gathering places, and I am thrilled to partner with the community on enhancements in the area,” said Councilmember O’Farrell. “The work taking place over the next several weeks will improve safety, accessibility, and help green the area and clear the air we breathe. These are all things I have fought for during my time in office, and I will continue to do so on your behalf in the years ahead.”

The Council office and LADWP will host a community celebration and grand opening for the pedestrian access on February 10. Please visit Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell's official website at http://cd13.lacity.org/ for more information.
