There are many benefits for owners and residents who participate in the multifamily recycling program.  When residents place recyclables in blue bins rather than trash cans, it will lessen the chances that the trash cans will become full, will overflow and attract pests and vermin.  Recycling is a great way to reduce or eliminate pests and vermin that would otherwise enjoy overflowing trash.  Also, if the volume of regular trash in bins is reduced significantly, then the trash bins won't have to be serviced as frequently.  This can result in cost savings for property owners and managers.
