Description
The Hazardous Generator Waste Program includes all businesses which generate wastes classified as hazardous under Federal Law (RCRA or the Resource Conservation Recovery Act) and/or State Law (Chapter 6.5 of the Health and Safety Code). This program includes facilities that operate onsite hazardous waste treatment programs (tiered permitting).
The Fire Department, contracts with the Health HazMat Unit of Los Angeles County Fire Department who oversees the program for businesses within the City.
Requirements: Unified Program Permit (posted at business location); Completion of Unified Programs forms packet; Compliance with local, state and federal laws.
