The Bureau of Sanitation collects large metal and household appliances, such as refrigerators and washers and dryers, from all residents serviced by the City of Los Angeles free of charge. When discarding a refrigerator remember to remove or safely secure the door shut with rope or duct tape to prevent accidents. To make arrangements to have these items collected, please call us at 1-800-773-2489, from Monday through Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., at least one day before your regular collection day. White goods are collected the same day as your trash collection day. Please have an itemized list ready when calling in your request. You could also send us your request for bulky items by clicking on the Service Web Site indicated below. Fill out and submit the Service Request form. The Service Request form takes two days to be processed.
