Description
Volunteers have been an important part of the Los Angeles Zoo since its opening in 1966. At the Los Angeles Zoo, we depend heavily on volunteer support with our events, our everyday operations, and to help make life better for each and every animal in our care. The positions available are as varied as the volunteer applicants. Volunteer often serve as on-grounds ambassadors, in our contact yard and in our enrichment program. Applicants must be able to commit to at least eight hours per month with a minimum of one year commitment. No experience is necessary for most assignments and training is on the job. Applicants are accepted based on the current needs of the Zoo and the guidelines of the program. For more detailed information and to fill out an application on-line for this program, please visit www.lazoo.org/support/volunteer.
