Description
The Department of Building and Safety is responsible for investigating building, mechanical and zoning code violations on existing commercial buildings and single family dwellings. If you wish to file a complaint regarding potential code violations on a private property such as illegal construction, substandard conditions, trash and debris, zoning violations, illegal signs etc., you may do so online or by contacting 3-1-1. When reporting a complaint, you must give your name and phone number. To report violations on apartment buildings, duplexes or two single-family dwellings on the same lot, please contact the Department of Housing at (866)557-7368.
