Description
The Los Angeles Housing Department's Rent Investigation and Enforcement Section is responsible for investigating tenant complaints of alleged violations of the Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO) related to illegal rent increases, notices to evict based on false and deceptive grounds, illegal reduction of housing services, non-payment of relocation assistance when required per the Ordinance, non-registration of rental units, and failure to post notice that the property is subject to the RSO. The RSO applies to all rental units including mobile homes, guest rooms, condominiums, and hotels.
