The Department of Aging offers caregiver services to family members caring for adults 60 and older and/or grandparents taking care of children 0-18 years of age due to parental absence.
The Department of Aging offers caregiver services to family members caring for adults 60 and older and/or grandparents taking care of children 0-18 years of age due to parental absence.
The Family Caregiver services include:
1) Community Information and Assistance: via telephone calls, correspondence, e-mail, webinar, and in person
2)Training: family caregivers face many challenges, such as financial burdens and time management in their caregiving roles. Learn about day-to-day practical caregiver tips.
3)Family Caregiver Support Group: bi-weekly support group for spouses and adult children caring for an older adult (spouse, parent, relative, friend).
4)Legal Assistance: assists caregivers in their efforts to obtain legal custody of a family member or accessing benefits for care recipients, housing, and many general legal dilemmas facing caregivers.
5)Older Adult Parenting (Kinship Care): provides services to older adults caring for grandchildren and/or a relative's child under the age of 18. The services also include support groups on Kinship Care.
