The Commission on Community & Family Services is a 15-member Board that acts in an advisory capacity to the City of Los Angeles on policies and issues relative to poverty; the needs, concerns and interests of children, youth, and their families; the administration of the Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan and the Community Development Block Grant Program; and, advice policy recommendations on relevant legislative and regulatory initiatives at all levels of government, among others. The CCFS has assumed the role and responsibilities of the former Citizens Unit for Participation (CUP) and regularly engages the public on policies related to the Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan.
