The Spaymobile is a clinic on wheels that travels throughout the City to provide Free spay and neuter surgeries to dogs and cats belonging to low income households, senior citizens and the disabled. If you qualify to participate, make sure that your dog or cat is at least 3 months of age. For adult animals, no food or water after 10pm the night before surgery. 4-6 month old puppies or kittens should not be fed after midnight the night before surgery. Bring your dogs on leashes and your cats in a carrier or closed containers. When you arrive at the Spaymobile, you will be asked to fill out forms and provide information about your pet. A Free rabies shot is offered to dogs brought to the Spaymobile for sterilization. You must have an appointment. To make an appointment, please call 1-888-DOG-SPAY or 1-888-364-7729, and 1-800-SPAY-4-LA or 1-800-772-9452. You will be given a specific appointment drop-off time. Pets are usually ready to go home by 2pm the same day as the surgery. To qualify for Spaymobile Services you must provide proof that you are a resident of the City of Los Angeles by providing two forms of identification such as a DWP bill and a picture I.D. You will also need to show that your entire household net income is less than $38,500 per year or have proof you are a participant in a government assisted program such as AFDC, Food Stamps, WIC, AIM, CHDP, CCS, No-Cost Medi-Cal, VA Disability, Healthy Families, CalWORKS, Section 8 Housing, or SSI.
