Observatory Traffic Advisory
The 2008 season at the Greek Theatre is underway.
For those visiting the Observatory when Greek shows are occurring, a lane of inbound traffic for Observatory visitors will be maintained once inside Griffith Park. However, you may encounter congestion on Vermont and Hillhurst Avenues trying to enter the park. An alternative would be Fern Dell / Western Canyon prior to sunset (when the road closes to inbound traffic). Please also be aware that there will be parking restrictions in the area of the Greek Theatre several hours before shows begin. You can view the Greek Theatre schedule by clicking here.
ADVICE ON VISITING
Visiting the Observatory
Tuesday-Sunday (closed Mondays)
Those wishing to visit Griffith Observatory may drive up to the Observatory and park in the parking lot or on the adjacent roads. Advance reservations are not needed to visit. For more information on how to visit, click here.
Weekend Public Bus Service
The LADOT Observatory Shuttle operates every Saturday and Sunday, except holidays, between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. from the Vermont/Sunset Metro Red Line station to the Observatory. For more information, click here.
