Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, the Los Angeles City Council meets and votes on issues and policies that effect our city. Councilwoman Perry serves as the council's Assistant President Pro Tempore and helps run council meetings in this capacity.
Councilwoman Jan Perry and the Los Angeles Department of Public Works hosted the 5th Annual Clean Community Celebration on Saturday, April 22, 2006, in an effort to connect constituents with community services and valuable information. This year?s celebration took place at the Ross Snyder Recreation Center and attracted community members from throughout the area who joined Councilmember Perry, her staff, and other City Employees to pick up trash, bulky items, and clean alleys and lots in an effort to unify and beautify the community. The clean-up was followed by an Environmental Fair that celebrated Earth Day, which is a day to reflect on, embrace, and join in efforts to improve our environment.
