New Basketball Courts in Highland Park

Metro Gold Line Express Service

Senator Barbara Boxer Visits Taylor Yard
Councilmember Reyes shared plans for a 40-acre park at Taylor Yard, along the L.A. River, with Sen. Boxer on April 20, 2006. During her visit, Sen. Boxer announced an $80 million bill to revitalize the L.A. River.

Pico-Union Soccer Field Dedication
Councilmember Reyes, the Red Shield Salvation Army and the U.S. Soccer Foundation recently celebrated the brand new NIKE all-season terrain turf soccer field for local children.

Cathedral High School Gym Renovation
Councilmember Reyes recently visited his Alma Mater to join Cathedral High School faculty, families, and students to celebrate the renovation of the school gym. The old 12,000-square-foot gym was demolished to make way for the construction of a 48,000-square-foot gym and science center. The new building will cost about $12 million.

Youth Day at Dodger Stadium
Councilmember Ed P. Reyes joined about 1,200 children at a Youth Day picnic on July 28. The kids were treated to free Dodger Dogs and tickets to a Dodger game that day.

Chinatown Linkages
More than 100 residents gathered at Castelar Elementary School on August 15 for the second Chinatown Linkages Streetscape Project workshop.
