| Cypress Park Memorial |
| Councilmember Reyes visited the Cypress Park Memorial to honor the nation's war dead on Memorial Day, May 26, 2007. At the memorial, Reyes also met with war veterans, active members of the U.S. military, as well as the loved ones of our service men and women.

| Reyes Sponsors Cypress Park Town Hall |
| Councilmember Reyes welcomed 100 residents to the Cypress Park Town Hall meeting on May 24, 2007 at the Cypress Park Recreation Center. During the meeting, Reyes discussed local projects including the old Cypress Park library, housing at the French Avenue development, neighborhood safety and the Los Angeles River revitalization.

| Affordable Housing Press Conference |
| Councilmember Reyes joined Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and residents in the Temple-Edgeware community on March 5, 2007 to announce $137 million in funding from the city's Affordable Housing Trust Fund. During the press conference, Reyes and the Mayor discussed how this money will be used to help finance 1,496 housing units for low-income families and homeless people.

| Reyes Welcomes All To Taylor Yard Park |
| Since his youth, Councilmember Reyes had envisioned transforming the old railroad facility, known locally as Taylor Yard, into something positive for the community. That dream became a reality on April 21, 2007 with when the 40-acre City-State park officially opened at the rail yard to the public. |
| Northeast L.A. Gang Injunction |
| In his ongoing mission to protect neighborhoods, Councilmember Reyes joined City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo at William Mead Housing on February 27, 2007 to announce a gang injunction against their 50th gang, the Highland Park crew. The injunction gives the city attorney authority to jail gang members if they are found congregating, loitering, trespassing, intimidating residents or possessing weapons.

| North East L.A Little League Anniversary |
| Councilmember Reyes joined little league teams to celebrate the North East Los Angeles Little League's 10th Anniversary on March 31, 2007.

| Political Powerhouse Backs LA River Plan |
| Councilmember Reyes encouraged residents to weigh in on the Los Angeles River Revitalization Master Plan during a press conference on February 22, 2007. Reyes was joined by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard, councilmembers Jose Huizar and Wendy Greuel, and County Supervisor Gloria Molina. The plan proposes transforming the River, entombed in concrete, into a continuous greenbelt linking communities. More information at www.lariver.org.

| Reyes Hosts Westlake Town Hall Meeting |
| Councilmember Reyes held a town hall meeting at Esperanza Elementary School in the Westlake community on February 8, 2007. The meeting included a community update by Reyes, followed by a question & answer period. During the meeting, participants also learned about public safety, community beautification, the Los Angeles River revitalization and other projects and services from City representatives.

| Reyes Holds Lincoln Heights Town Hall |
| More than 150 residents packed the Lincoln Heights Senior Center for a town hall meeting, held by Councilmember Reyes, on March 22, 2007. During the meeting, Reyes provided residents with an update of community projects and answered their questions as well. Participants also spoke with representatives from 20 City departments and ten community-based organizations who had set up tables. During the meeting, Reyes honored longtime community leader Shirley Fierro as the Pioneer Woman of the Year.

| Reyes held a town hall meeting at Betty Placencia Elementary School on February 22, 2007. The meeting drew residents from the Temple-Beaudry, Angelino Heights and Echo Park neighborhoods to learn more about projects in their community. Reyes invited Los Angeles Police Department officers, as well as representatives from other City departments, to answer residents' questions.
