Description |
The Hollywood and Vine Project
will be developed on a 4.6-acre site located in the “Southeast”
corner of Hollywood and Vine St. adjacent to the Hollywood
and Vine Metro Red Line Station. The mixed use project will
include retail stores, restaurants, a grocery store, condos,
and a four start hotel. The project is a partnership between
Legacy Partners (developing the residential component) and
Gateway Capital (developing the Hotel & Commercial component).
This project will create 2,792 construction related jobs
and 229 permanent jobs. It has a project value of $350 million. |

Description |
Phase I of the $150M mall renovation will be completed at the end of
2006, with the relocation of the AMC theaters, expansion of Gelson's and
grand opening for their innovative food terrace, which has become its
own separate attraction.
Planning for $500M Phase II is underway with a draft EIR to be issued
in mid-2007, covering a new mixed-use development with increased retail,
a residential tower adjacent to the mall and additional parking. In
total, there will be 360,000 sq. ft. of commercial space, 118,000 sq.
ft. of office and a 945,000 sq. ft. of residential providing 262 units
condominium.

Description |
NBC Universal has announced a long-term plan for the 391-acre Universal City property, home to Universal Studios, Universal Studios Hollywood theme park, and Universal CityWalk. The Universal City Vision Plan will revitalize production facilities, explore extending studio facilities to the adjacent Universal City Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) Station property, generate new office space, refresh its theme park operations, create a new residential neighborhood on a portion of the property and address traffic congestion. The Plan represents an economic catalyst for all of Los Angeles, creating 11,000 new full- and part-time jobs at project completion and 17,000 jobs throughout the County during the construction period. Altogether, the existing and future studio, retail, theme park and residential uses will generate approximately $21 million in new annual revenues for the City and County of Los Angeles and over $4 billion per year in total economic activity throughout Los Angeles County. |

Description |
This project will create

jobs and 5,000 permanent jobs in the Boyle Heights area. |

Description |
Centre Street Lofts is anticipated
to be completed in December 2006 and will offer 116 live
work, for-sale market rate units, ground floor retail
and public parking. The Disposition and Development Agreement
provides for an affordable housing component whereby the
Agency will offer "soft second" mortgage financing
averaging $198,000 per unit to 17 moderate-income families
and a Net Profit Sharing component where Agency will share
in 37% of the Net Sales Proceeds from the residential
condominium sales.
This will be the first for sale housing product in Downtown
San Pedro east of Gaffey Street in more than 20 years.
It offers 20,500 square feet of ground floor retail; an
interactive public art component and 312 parking spaces
of which 40 are not code required and will be available
to the public. Construction began March 2005 and is anticipated
to be completed in Nov. 2006.
This project will create 100 construction related jobs
and 30 permanent jobs.

Description |
The proposed new Waterfront
Promenade offers approx. 8 miles of open space, new commercial
and residential development opportunities and an expanded
Cruise Ship Terminal. CRA/LA, with community support,
advocated east west pedestrian and vehicular connections
to the Water.
The Port Master Plan includes a number of east west connections.
Primarily of benefit to Downtown San Pedro are the proposed
7th Street Pier, 5th and 6th Street Plaza, Maritime Museum
Complex and new vehicular entrance to the Cruise Ship
Terminal via 1st Street.
The first segment, Cruise Ship Promenade at the Vincent
Thomas Bridge was completed and opened to the public in
Dec 2004. |

Description |
The proposed Midtown Plaza
project will redevelop a site that has been blighted
and underutilized for a number of years. This project
will include 377,000 square feet of retail/commercial
uses. The retail/commercial uses will include a home
improvement anchor tenant, a complimentary second national
tenant, sit-down restaurants and a Metropolitan Transit
Authority (MTA) transit center.
The capital investment for the project is projected
at $114M and is expected to create 760 temporary construction
jobs and 125 permanent jobs.

Description |
The proposed Lanzit Industrial
project contemplates 5-9 individual industrial buildings
on 10 acres of vacant land in the Watts area of Council
District 15. The project is expected to redevelop this
existing Brownfield site to a viable industrial park thereby
bringing local jobs to the local community.
The capital investment for the project is projected
at $14M and is expected to create 733 temporary construction
jobs and a minimum 300 jobs throughout the industrial

Description |
In April, 2006, the Mayor
unveiled Phase 1 of this $2 billion project, which began
construction in 2006 and ends in 2010. Jobs
are union and living wage, with construction jobs estimated
at 25,000 for all phases. The project will include
housing units, retail development, streetscape improvement,
public open space, office space, renovation to the Civic
Mall next to the County Hall of Administration, and
a 225-room hotel. |

Description |
In Fall 2005, commenced
construction for this $1.2 billion project that will create
more than 25,000 jobs, produce more than $18 million in
new annual tax revenues, and draw over 10 mm visitors
annually. Mayor led the Convention Center Hotel resolution
and helped attract needed equity for the project. In September,
2005, the Mayor attended the ground breaking ceremony
for Phase 1, scheduled for completion in 2007. L.A. Live
will include a 1,200-room hotel high rise adjacent to
the Convention Center. It will include ballroom and meeting
room space, restaurants, parking and for-sale condominiums. |
