The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), a joint powers City/County agency, provides homeless services throughout the County of Los Angeles. The LAHD provides funds to LAHSA for the provision of homeless services. LAHSA is embarking on the largest homeless census project in Los Angeles County for 2007 that will occur over the three nights of January 23,24 and 25, 2007. Homeless individuals and families residing on the streets, in shelters, in motels that accept vouchers and in institutions such as hospitals, jails, and residential treatment centers will be counted. LAHSA is asking for volunteers to serve as enumerators, survey interviewers, and deployment site assistants to assist in this count.
