Disasters
happen everywhere. Los Angeles has had its share of
emergencies and critical events and we have learned our lessons. We know
that while we cannot control forces of nature or eliminate
human error, we can prepare to meet disasters and mitigate
their impact.
Part of
our strategic effort involves Global Partnerships in Preparedness.
It is through these important alliances that we learn from
the experience of others and share our lessons learned.
The City
of Los Angeles has offered to establish long term cooperation
and exchange of Emergency Management and management information
with its Sister Cities around the world. Some partnership agreements
have already been signed, more are being prepared. A similar
offer has been extended to all the consulates located in
the City.
