LACSW 2008-2009 Policy Priorities

  1. Opportunity and Inclusion (including access to health care, fair and equitable environments, and assessment of women's human rights)
  2. Economic Opportunity (including recruitment and retention into non-traditional careers currently underrepresented by women)
  3. Personal and Public Safety (including issues of domestic, community and systemic violence)
  4. Education (including gender equity in education, access to comprehensive sexuality education in schools and our community)

We have prioritized viewing these areas through a gender lens and focusing on the most underserved low-income communities of color; women of all ages; and the LGBT community.

These priorities guide the Commission's policy advocacy, collaborations and programmatic work.
