Sarah Dusseault
Senior Policy Advisor
As Senior Policy Advisor, Sarah helps Council President Garcetti develop policy initiatives on key issues including public safety, education, the environment, housing, and homelessness. She oversees the legislative policy staff.
Sarah served as Deputy Mayor for Housing and Homelessness during Mayor Jim Hahn's Administration. She played a key role in establishing and implementing Los Angeless Affordable Housing Trust Fund and helped to inaugurate the Mayoral Housing Summit, a national symposium sponsored by the Los Angeles Business Council. As Mayor Hahn's Policy Director, Sarah also helped lead efforts to develop major policy initiatives, including the city's largest expansion of the LAs BEST after-school program and a program to fix 25 of the city's worst intersections every year.
Sarah currently serves on the Board of Directors for Shelter Partnership, a policy and resources service center working to end homelessness in Los Angeles County. She has also served as a Commissioner on the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority.
Sarah is a graduate of Yale College and earned a J.D. at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law.
