Lynnette Amerian
Executive Assistant
Lynnette Amerian manages Council President Garcetti's schedule, handling hundreds of requests for his time every week.
Lynnette has worked for the City of Los Angeles for nearly 20 years beginning in 1990 as a Community Relations Representative for Councilmember Mike Woo, who represented the 13th Council District. After working on Councilmember Woo's 1993 mayoral campaign, she went on to join the office of City Councilmember Laura Chick as her Executive and Administrative Assistant, where she served for 8 years. Lynnette was one of the first to join the staff when Councilmember Garcetti took office in 2001.
Before working for the City, Lynnette was active in many volunteer organizations including the Junior League of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Chapter of the Junior Philharmonic Committee, and the Assistance League of Southern California.
While serving as President of the Los Angeles Police Pipe Band, Lynnette met her husband, Bruce Bogstad, a member of the Los Angeles Police Department. Together they are raising a teenage daughter, Jacquelyn, an accomplished equestrian. She is also the mother of two grown children, Michael Amerian, a Los Angeles City Attorney, and Melissa Amerian, who resides in New York City and is an account executive for a public relations firm.
Lynnette was born in Los Angeles and raised in the San Fernando Valley, where she still resides. She is a graduate of Boston University where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in American History and Literature.
