Glen Dake
Green Deputy

‘Green’ Deputy Glen Dake represents Councilmember Garcetti on environmental issues including the development and operation of parks. To make Los Angeles and the 13th Council District more sustainable, he works with non-profit agencies and many City departments, particularly the Departments of Water & Power and Public Works on energy and water issues, and on green building practices. He also works with community groups on their projects for new or improved parks, and helps them access the bond-funded programs for parks, and other resources.

Glen came to Southern California in 1987 after graduating from Cornell University and founded a landscape architectural practice focusing on colleges, elementary schools and playgrounds. He helped build the Echo Park Community Garden, and helped organize the Los Angeles Community Garden Council, a county-wide coalition of community gardens. He serves on the Liberty Hill Foundation's Environmental Justice Funding Board.
