Aida Alvarado
Council Aide
Aida is the first person you will hear when you call Councilmember Eric Garcetti’s Hollywood District Office. She handles the front desk, answering all incoming phone calls, and directs calls, to the appropriate staff member. Not only will she connect you with the appropriate staff member, she can also handle any problems or issues you may be experiencing with the city in the most innovative and efficient manner. Aida is also responsible for reporting all graffiti removal/bulky item request, making her essential in the success of the UNTAG program.
Aida was born and raised in Los Angeles. She graduated from Los Angeles High School and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University, Los Angeles in Political Science with an Option in Public Administration. Aida was one of Eric’s earliest supporters. She worked diligently in his first campaign in 2001 to help him get elected and helped organized students as campaign volunteers.
Prior to working for the City of Los Angeles, Aida worked at California State University, Los Angeles for the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Part-time for 2 years. She was the Assistant to the Associate Director were she assisted in evaluating and interviewing incoming freshmen as part of the EOP admission process.
