Las Lomas Development Defeated in Council

Councilman Smith Helps Kick Off Citywide Multifamily Recycling
The City moved closer to achieving the goal of Councilman Greig Smiths RENEW LA Plan to end our dependency on landfills, with the launch of citywide Multifamily Recycling Monday, July 16. The Multifamily Recycling pilot program launched two years ago was highly successful, and the 600,000 multifamily dwellings in the City will be now able to use the Blue Bins to recycle all plastics, bottles, cans, paper, even coat hangers and Styrofoam, which will make a massive contribution to diverting trash from going into landfills. Councilman Greig Smith installed a solar power system in his home. With the help of the City's solar incentive programs, L.A. homeowners can install solar power and save money, protect the environment, and reduce the strain on our electric system.

Earth Day 2007 Celebration at Chatsworth Park
Nearly 100 residents joined Councilman Greig Smith, and the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council for our environmental
clean-up and free tree give away in celebration of Earth Day
on Sunday, April 22 at Chatsworth Park North.
Volunteers removed trash and debris and painted over graffiti.
