Affirmative
Action Program Instructions
As
a bidder for a Los Angeles City contract, you are required to comply
with the nondiscrimination provisions as defined in Division 10
of the Los Angeles Administrative Code. Pertinent provisions appear
on bid, contract, and purchase order forms.
NONDISCRIMINATION
CLAUSE
Required in all Contracts
Every
contract which is awarded or entered into on behalf of Los Angeles
City, shall contain a provision obligating the contractor in the
performance of such contract not to discriminate in employment
practices against any employee or applicant because of race, religion,
national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, age, physical
handicap, marital status or medical condition. All subcontracts
awarded under any contract mentioned in this section shall contain
a like provision.
Prospective
Contractors or Subcontractors Employment Nondiscrimination Notice
EQUAL
EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES CERTIFICATION
Required for Contracts between $1,000 and $5,000
For
every contract or subcontract with Los Angeles City for which
the consideration is in excess of $1000, but is not more than
$5,000, the contractor shall sign and submit the Equal
Employment Practices Certification Form
AFFIRMATIVE
ACTION PROGRAM CERTIFICATION
Required for All Contracts in Excess of $5,000
For
every contract or subcontract with or on behalf of Los Angeles
City for which the consideration is in excess of $5,000, the contractor
shall sign and submit the following with the bid.
- A
signed Affirmative
Action Practices Certification Form.
- A
signed Affirmative Action Plan. The contractor must submit one
of the three following plans:
- "Los
Angeles City Affirmative Action Requirements for Non-Construction
Contractors"
- A
trade association plan, if the contractor is a member in
good standing of the association. This plan must be one,
which has been negotiated with and approved by the Office
of Contract Compliance
- The
contractor's (bidder's) Affirmative Action Plan. This plan
must be reviewed and approved by the Office of Contract
Compliance
Each
of the above documents, if approved, shall be effective for 12
months following the date of approval with the approval for the
Affirmative Action Practices Certification to be concurrent with
the approval for the Affirmative Action Plan.
