Dr. Lula B. Ballton
Dr. Ballton is Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of West Angeles Community Development Corporation in Los Angeles, California. She has been an educator, writer, public speaker, civil rights lawyer and activist. She has taught and been an administrator at a number of educational institutions, including Delaware State University, the City Colleges of Chicago, Los Angeles City College and Vanguard University. Earning her law degree in 1990 from UCLA School of Law, she has practiced at the California State Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division and also at Bryan, Cave McPheeters and McRoberts, a large corporate firm.
An accomplished speaker and writer, she has most recently published “Sister to Sister” Volume II: Devotions for African-American Women and a collection of short stories, “Sittin’ Around Bein’ Brown.”
