ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK REPORT
A Report on the Strengths and Weaknesses of the City of Los Angeles' Economy
Los Angeles is California’s largest city and the nation’s second largest city, with a population of more than 4 million. Maintaining the City’s economic position requires an economic development model that can assess and adapt it's resources to fulfill the Community Development Department's mission:
"To build self-sustaining communities by assisting families to become stable and economically independent."
The analysis that is presented within this baseline Economic development strategic framework has allowed CDD to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the City’s economy. An Implementation and Action Plan was developed that includes both short- and long-range steps to achieve CDD’s economic development goals, ensuring consistency with the Mayor’s economic development plan.
