Vending Program
Currently, there is no active sidewalk vending programs within the City of Los Angeles. Call 213-744-7111, (TTY) 213-744-9395, for information on how to establish a sidewalk vending district.
Most sidewalk vending activities within the City limits are illegal. Exceptions include certain types of hot dog carts or for special events. Please call 311 (City residents) or 1-866-4LACITY (866-452-2489) for more information on how to obtain permits for legal food sales.
Selling food or other items on public sidewalks, freeway on or off-ramps and most vacant lots is illegal and can result in a fine and seizure of all merchandise as well as the cart.
