The City Council on May 12, 2000 approved the concept of the 3-1-1/E-Government Services Project proposed by PricewaterhouseCoopers and concurrently established the 3-1-1 Steering Committee to provide oversight and guidance for the Project.

The 3-1-1 / E-Government Steering Committee is chaired by the City Administrative Office (CAO), with voting members from the Information Technology Agency (ITA), Mayor’s Office, and Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA). The CAO and Project Manager report to the Information Technology & General Services and Budget & Finance Committees on a quarterly basis regarding the status and budget of the project.

3-1-1 Steering Committee meetings are usually held the second Thursday of the month at 1:30 p.m. in the CAO Conference Room, 15th Floor of City Hall East and are open to the public.
