Elysian Park, exemplary of a well maintained big city park, is centrally located on the north end of Los Angeles just minutes away from City Hall and downtown Los Angeles to the south. The Los Angeles Police Academy is housed within the park. All roads around Elysian lead to the World Famous Dodger Stadium, that can be found atop Elysian Park. Bishop Canyon, aka Elysian Fields, is comprised of three baseball fields that can be used by permit only. The park is surrounded by various communities such as the scenic and historic Angelino Heights and architectural gems on Carol Avenue; Chinatown; El Pueblo de Los Angeles/Olvera Street to the east; and the neighborhoods of Echo Park and Silverlake to the west. The scenic grounds and plush in green surroundings have been a hot spot for filming and hub to the entertainment industry for decades. This park offers various picnic locations that can be reserved for outdoor activities as well as the Grace Simons Lodge and Leo Politi ideal for more private festivities such as weddings, company banquets, etc. Reservations can be made by contacting the permit office at 213-485-5054.
