Description
The City Administrative Officer's Risk Management Division provides risk management services and assistance to City departments. Services include risk analysis and assessments with respect to potential liability; contract review for appropriate risk management language and insurance requirements; indemnification letter issuance and hold harmless agreement review; citywide insurance procurement including purchase of insurance for capital projects; loss prevention and control; claims management including loss data analysis; and technical training and low cost insurance programs for contractors and special event holders. The Risk Management Division also reviews and processes insurance and bond documentation from City contractors, vendors and permittees for compliance with the City Charter, Municipal and Administrative Codes requirements and reviews financial statements from contractors that are self-insured to determine financial capacity to protect the City from loss or liability.
