Origin: Western Australia

Species characteristics:
Form - Evergreen. Fast growing, medium sized, variable to 60' tall, with spreading crown to 40'. Sometimes weeping, with a rounded canopy and heavy foliage.

Trunk - Bark is rough, persistent, dark gray brown, with fine fissuring which extends to the large branches.

Foliage - Mature leaves are dull gray to green on both sides, 4 to 6" long and 3/4 to 2 1/4" wide., lance shaped, often curved. Juvenile leaves are ovate.

Flowers/fruit - Flowers white, 3/4" in insignificant clusters during spring and summer. Fruits are woody 1/4" wide capsules with flat discs.

Significant pest problem is Red Gum Lerp Psyllid.

Site suitability:
Sunset zones: 8, 9, and 12 - 24.

Clearances - Suitable for 6' minimum parkways, medians or cutouts.
