Curbside programs

1. Refuse collection to 720,000 households.

2. Curbside recycling to 720,000 households. Curbside recycling collection materials: glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles marked with 1 and 2 codes, metal and aluminum cans including empty aerosol and paint cans, newspapers, corrugated cardboard, brown paper bags, and all clean paper.

3. Separate yard trimming collection, currently in implementation to all households.

4. Separate horse manure collection for a fee, serving approximately 500 households.

5. Free bulky item collection to all city serviced households.

6. Free dead animal collection to all city serviced households.

7. Extra capacity service with a fee for refuse collection and yard trimming collection

8. Los Angeles Unified Schools curbside recycling collection, currently in implementation to all schools along residential recycling routes.



Free Drop-off programs

1. Old trash can, available at all Refuse Collection District Yards.

2. Recyclable materials, available at all Refuse Collection District Yards.

3. Used Tires, available at all Refuse Collection District Yards (4 tire limit to City residents).

4. Household Hazardous Waste collection, weekly at locations throughout the City.

5. Used Oil Recycling Program, at certified and community locations throughout the City.

6. Yard Trimmings Drop-off, weekends 8 am - 4 pm at 11291 Randall Street (DeGarmo Ave. Cross-Street) in Sun Valley (free to residents with proof of residency like a drivers license or DWP bill).

7. Christmas tree collection, seasonal at various sites throughout the City.



Free instruction

1. Backyard composting workshops, at locations throughout the City.

2. Speakers available for community meetings, at locations throughout the City.

3. Door-to-door information is provided by the Los Angeles Conservation Corps during program implementation.
