THE
INFORMATION AND CONTROL SYSTEMS DIVISION (ICSD) is responsible
for automation and computer technology in the Bureau of Sanitation. ICSD’s
staff is distributed among the L.A. Civic Center, Hyperion Wastewater
Treatment Facility and other city locations to enhance our service. Our
services include network design and management, GIS support, control systems
support and management, and support for over 1500 PCs in use throughout
the Bureau. ICSD is responsible for managing system projects including
contracting for consulting services and staffing for ongoing support of
the enterprise systems relied on by the Bureau of Sanitation.
ICSD manages numerous contracts used to provide computer service, software,
and equipment. We also develop computer system standards, and provide
liaison services with the City’s Information Technology Agency and
other
agencies. Finally we are responsible for securing and managing the data
used by the Bureau on a daily basis and for the long term strategic planning
related to computer systems and automation.
