EMD LABORATORIES ARE LOCATED at the Hyperion Treatment Plant, Terminal Island Treatment Plant, Donald C. Tillman and Los Angeles-Glendale Water Reclamation Plants. The Division also provides laboratory services for Toyon and Lopez Canyon and other inactive Landfills, the Wastewater Collection System Division, Regulatory Affairs Division, Industrial Waste Management Division, and Watershed Protection Division.

Since July 2001, a consolidated EMD Laboratory Facility has been located in the new Harry Pregerson Technical Support Facility (HPTSF)at Hyperion. The EMD laboratory is organized into five sections and one Laboratory Information Management Group. The five sections are Biology, Instrumental Chemistry, Conventional Chemistry, Data/Sample Management, and Client Support Services that includes QA/QC, Safety, and the outlying laboratories. The new facility at HPTSF provides approximately 78,000 square feet of laboratory space.
