Case No. MND-RP-579-06 PAN PACIFIC PARK-LOS ANGELES HOLOCAUST MUSEUM
Council District 4 Metro Region
Project Address: 7600 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA
Project Description: The proposed project will include the development of the 8,375-square-foot Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust (LAMH) museum building in conjunction with the Los Angeles Holocaust Monument at Pan Pacific Park. The proposed museum will be designed to be partly below ground to integrate it into the surrounding parkland. It will be an earth-sheltered building with a grass covered roof, forming a continuous layer between the ground and the roof and designed to accommodate park visitors. There will be 7,600 square feet of paving including walkways, some of which will include the existing paving associated with the Holocaust Monument. The monument will remain the central outdoor feature of the museum. Parking for the museum, as well as auxiliary parking for Pan Pacific Park, will be provided by 25 spaces of subterranean parking. In addition, the project will provide improvements to the paved, covered picnic area in the park south of the project site, including landscaping, a bus drop-off and pick-up area, and new sidewalks. Hours of operation for the museum would be from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Fridays, and by appointment. Construction would last approximately 18 months.
