Welcome
to the website for the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT.)
We hope that you find the information you are seeking, and that you
are able to conveniently access the service that you desire.
LADOT delivers an array of services to increase the safety of motorists,
pedestrians, and bicyclists, to facilitate the flow of traffic along major
City streets, that calm traffic within residential neighborhoods, and that
mitigates the traffic impact associated with new developments.
The Department manages the popular community DASH and Commuter Express lines that
serve 30 million riders annually. Specialized transportation services are provided
for thousands of seniors and the disabled through the City Ride program.
We regulate taxicab
franchises and medical transportation companies, enforce on street parking
regulations, manage 117 off street parking facilities, and minimize the
traffic and parking impacts created by hundreds of special events like
the L.A. Marathon.
In partnership with other agencies, LADOT plans and funds major transportation
improvements on freeways, rail lines, city streets, transit stations,
parking garages, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities. For your convenience,
links to these agencies are included under "Related Links."
