Release
of New LADBS Information Bulletins
The
City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety
(LADBS) is extremely pleased to announce the publication
of the new LADBS Information
Bulletins. These bulletins will provide consistent
and uniform interpretation of the codes, clarify code
issues as they relate to new construction and new technologies,
and explain new regulations.
These
bulletins are categorized into the following topics
(see Matrix 1 - Information Bulletin Index):
The
new LADBS Information Bulletins supersede most of the
previously published Rules of General Application (RGA's),
Memorandums of General Distribution (MGD's) and other
related public information handouts. For cross reference
purpose, a matrix of previously issued documents is
provided to allow historical tracking of all superseded
RGA's, MGD's and other public information that have
been converted into the new format (see Matrix 2 - Cross
Reference Index to Previously Issued Public Information).
Please
note that some provisions or interpretations of the
code as written in the superseded RGA's and MGD's are
no longer applicable due to subsequent code changes.
Information from these outdated documents is not included
in the new LADBS Information Bulletins (see Matrix 3
for a list of Obsolete RGA's and MGD's).
LADBS
will continue to update and publish new Information
Bulletins in order to ensure constant and uniform interpretation
of codes and regulations. As part of our continuing
effort to enhance customer service and assist the construction
industry, all of the new and updated LADBS Information
Bulletins will be made available on the Department's
Internet web site at http://www.ladbs.org.
