The Security Services Division operates 24-hours a day, 7-days per week, employing Police Officers, Security Officers, Security Aides, and support staff. The facilities patrolled include historic City Hall, City Hall East, City Hall South, the Los Angeles Mall area, various other facilities in the downtown area, the Braude Constituent Services Center in Van Nuys, the San Pedro Municipal Building, the Constituent Services Center in Central Los Angeles, offices leased to the City and many other facilities throughout the City.

Currently, the Division’s authorized staffing levels include 57 Police Officers and supervisors, 54 Security Officers and supervisors, and 12 Security Aides. Police Officers perform vehicle patrol, foot patrol, and selected high profile post assignments. Security Officers and Aides perform vehicle and foot patrol activities, operate CCTV terminals, and staff a variety of fixed post assignments.

Division Police Officers actively coordinate with L.A.P.D.’s Central and other Divisions, sharing information on crime trends and complaints from the public. During recent protests and demonstrations, Police Officers maintained order and ensured the safety of City facilities.
