The Air Quality, Water and Natural Resources, Materials and Waste Resources, and the Environmental Business & Neighborhood Services Divisions of the Environmental Affairs Department, an agency of the City of Los Angeles, have occasional openings for the position of "Student Professional Worker." In order to fill these positions, the Department only accepts résumés from candidates currently enrolled in a collegiate or graduate program on a continuing basis. The hourly rate is $12.88 per hour before a retirement contribution and in the range of 20 to 30 hours per week. Days and hours are flexible, but must fall within the Department’s normal business hours, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Benefits are not included and parking is the responsibility of the employee. All of the student professional worker positions' duties will likely include community outreach and working with other agencies and non-profit organizations. This may occasionally require some work hours at special events held in the evening or on weekends. The Department seeks individuals with excellent writing and organizational abilities and interpersonal skills. Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office software is highly desired. Currently, only the Water and Natural Resources Division is accepting resumes for review. To view the student professional description, please click on the following link.
