Senior Community Service Employment Program

One-stop Centers

(Title V of the Older Americans Act)

The Department's Senior Community Service Employment program provides part-time on-the-job training for enrollees. Eligible persons are City of Los Angeles residents, 55 years or older, and whose income falls within federal low-income guidelines.

The goal of the program is unsubsidized employment for older workers. Enrollees are placed either in a classroom training program or assigned to a community-based agency. While in this supportive environment, the enrollee acquires new career skills or build on existing ones while earning a wage. The program offers enrollees assistance with job referrals during the job search period of transitioning to unsubsidized employment.

For further information about this program, please call Monday through Friday at (213) 252-4009 between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
