Community Meal Sites and Home-Delivered Meals

There are twelve non-profit organizations that provide a hot, nutritious meals daily, Monday - Friday, in over 100 community meal site locations throughout the city. These meals are available to any senior who wishes to participate. Donations are encouraged, however, no one is turned away because of an inability to contribute.

These community meal site locations also offer seniors an opportunity to socialize and participate in educational and cultural activities in their own communities. Transportation to and from the community meal sites may also be available at some locations.

The Home-Delivered Meals program delivers one hot, nutritious meal daily, Monday - Friday, to participating homebound seniors who, because of physical or mental disability, are unable to attend a community meal site.

All meals are designed to meet one-third of the Recommended Daily Dietary Allowance Requirement as well as meet the varied tastes of the city's diverse ethnic communities.

There are nutrition consultants available to provide nutrition counseling, education and training.

Each of the fifteen Aging Service Areas has one agency administering the nutrition program for that area, and numerous community meal sites within that area to choose from.
