The Civil Air Patrol at Van Nuys Airport is composed of North American AT-6 Texan aircraft that were flown during World War II training missions and are now available to provide search & air rescue of downed aircraft. Please note: Van Nuys Airport is a general aviation airport. Although the airport is not a commercial passenger facility with a central terminal area, business travelers and tourists using private, corporate and charter aircraft benefit from the its urban location and proximity to city business, recreation and entertainment centers. Most airport businesses are situated on the perimeter of the property and accessible through bordering streets.
