In charge of overall policy for the LAPD. The Chief of Police reports to the Board of Police Commissioners and implements the the policies and goals set forth by the Board of Police Commissioners. The Police Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor. The Board of Police Commissioners meets every Tuesday.
