Certification of Small and Local Business Enterprises (SLBE)
Provider: PW/Bureau of Contract Administration
Categories: Business Opportunities with the City
Description
The Bureau of Contract Administration evaluates and certifies businesses as Small and Local Business Enterprises (SLBE)for all City personal services and public works construction contracts. An SLBE is defined as a business whose principal office is located within the County of Los Angeles. Additionally, it must have a City of Los Angeles business tax registration certificate and its gross receipts must have been less than $3 million in the previous fiscal year. Firms certified as SLBE enjoy a 10% preference applied to bid contracts of $100,000 or less. The Centralized Certification Section receives applications and supporting documentation, reviews information therein, verifies references, and performs a financial review to ascertain eligibility of applicant. It also disseminates information on the City's SLBE program.
