Alert LA is a mass notification system used to contact residents and businesses throughout Los Angeles in the event of an emergency. Contact will be made via recorded phone messages, text messages or email messages. All land lines are automatically included in the system, but individuals can sign up for text messages, email messages and recorded messages sent to cell phones at alert.lacounty.gov. This service provides emergency and/or critical information pertaining to a recent incident or disaster and is useful to the general public, including local media.
