Services for Youth Employment

Our Youth Employment Services are designed specifically to help the young people of Los Angeles. Youth between the ages 14-21, residents of the City of Los Angeles and income eligible are provided career and educational services and social and recreational activities via youth centers. Other services include: employment/work readiness, career exploration and guidance, occupational skills training, tutoring/computer training, college preparation/leadership, counseling/mentoring and alternative high school services.

Success Stories

  • We Helped a high school dropout earn his way to an internship with a film production company,
  • linked a determined teenager who needed healthcare with a long-term employer who provided it, and
  • placed a teenager in an entry level position who then worked herself up to a lead position.

Los Angeles Youth Opportunity Movement
The Los Angeles Youth Opportunity Movement promotes youth achievement by working with families and community partners to create opportunities helping young people to reach their education, employment, and personal development goals.

The City of Los Angeles and the Office of Mayor Villaraigosa present nine diverse youth programs that strive to provide employment opportunities to youth and young adults.

OneSource California
OneSource is a national youth employment program open to young people 14-24. OneSource Youth Opportunity Centers provide employment and work readiness skills, career exploration and guidance, computer training and more. Staff at our OneSource Centers will help you build the skills necessary to find and keep a job. You will learn how to get the most out of your education, which will lead to a solid career. Our services include:

    To get started, you must meet the following and other additional requirements:

    · Must be 16-21 years of age
    · Must be a resident of the City of Los Angeles
    · Must be income eligible
