The Bureau
of Street Lighting is responsible for the design, construction, operation,
maintenance and repair of the City's Street Lighting System. The City's
policy for financing street lighting requires adjoining property owners to
bear the annual cost of operation and maintenance through a special
assessment levied against each property which benefits from the Street
Lighting System.
The Bureau of Street Lighting is one of six Bureaus in the Los Angeles City
Department of Public Works.
