The streetlights on Hollywood Boulevard were reconstructed, c.1960, utilizing the pole bases and shafts from a previous era.  The luminaires each contain three lamps, are adorned with five red stars on either side and are over 7 feet in length. Today the lamps are 400 watt metal halide which provides the white color necessary for the internationally televised "Christmas Parade".
